很久很久以前,两个大质量黑洞缓慢靠近。大约13亿年前,它们之间的距离足够近,开始了合并进程。两个超级引力场之间的碰撞产生了被称为引力波的现象。5个月前,引力波通过了地球,被激光干涉引力波天文台(LIGO)探测到。2015年9月14日标准时间9:50:45,LIGO的自动系统捕捉到了这次信号。引力波的震荡频率一开始为35Hz,信号在0.25秒后消失,消失前其频率增加到了250 Hz。信号的可信度超过了5 sigma。加州理工的LIGO团队今天正式对外证实了过去几个月的流言:他们首次直接观察到了爱因斯坦广义相对论预言的引力波。
